Lactate monitoring without a finger prick. PointFit's PF-Sweat Patch reads lactate continuously from sweat in real time โ€” the first consumer wearable to attempt this. Currently in beta. Full breakdown: the5krunner.com/2026/02/26/n... #Endurance #PointFit #LactateThreshold #SportsScience

Just finished my 3rd independent training session at #NuffieldHealth #Plymouth following the 12-week #LongCovid Rehabilitation Programme.

Measurably improved strength ๐Ÿ’ช

And my #LactateThreshold heartrate has increased to 134bpm; resetting my heartrate armband alert to 129bpm!

Visible Health Morning Stability 1 out of 5. Ou of balance. Be kind to yourself today. Your body needs rest to get back to baseline. Your heartrate variability is much lower than average... Resting heartrate much higher.

Sunday morning. 7am. Deep sleep for 7 hours. Feel well rested & ready for the day ahead. No apparent symptoms.

But my heartrate spiked above my #LactateThreshold of around 130 b.p.m. many times yesterday afternoon & evening, including during the concert when I was sitting still.

Ditto on query for definition of "zone 1"?
But isn't derogatory slang for that "grey-zoning" aka "garbage-miles"?
Here's how Garmin defines my zones based on #LactateThreshold
With example of best "low effort" run, 10 minutes in Z1 is only possible from freezing cold, can't hold form slower?

btw that's EXACTLY what I was talking about other day
Staying below #LactateThreshold (aka anaerobic threshold)
BUT here's tricky part they don't mention:
Not only is threshold FAR below from healthy (not just detraining) but also CHANGES sometimes on a daily basis from damaged mitochondria fueling!

more details/coherence soon but big malfunction in #CFS & #PEM is even when #mitochondria are offered various fuels they refuse to use it: carbs, fat etc Amino-Acids are last resort, very destructive to burn. #LactateThreshold critical point to stay below as glycogen MUST be had or damage guaranteed

hope to read their result someday but after 4 years of #LongCovid figured how my #PEM is triggered, how to reduce it to run every day (at fraction of former speed/distance)
#HRV study is not enough, it's #LactateThreshold, body resisting burning carbs & fat but rather amino-acids
