A black rat snake (Pantherophis alleghaniensis) daily close up on gravel and sand. We see their head doubling back on the rest of their body in the middle right of frame. We can’t see the rest of their body as is trails off in the bottom right. I wish I had a way to photograph a snake in the wild that communicates how big they are and is also a good picture lol.
Last week I got really lucky with #snakes. I saw this large black #ratsnake (Pantherophis alleghaniensis) crossing my path as soon as I started down the trail!
