Blue morph Snow Goose with white head and neck raised, orange beak, dark body, mixed dark and white flight feathers and white rump…floating in water in middle of four larger Canada Geese with black heads with off-white chin straps, black necks and brown bodies. One goose has its head and neck raised, swimming just beyond and behind and mirroring the snow goose, the others have their heads tucked in.

This morning I was lucky to find a dark morph snow goose ('blue goose') at Fossil Creek Park here in Fort Collins. They are rare here anyway, and the dark morph makes up only 1-3% of the population.
