Thought it about time to use my skills as a carpenter to make a bird box. Had lots of oak offcuts which will give it longevity. Blue Tit certainly gave it a once over. Hoping they will nest in it 🙏

A blue tit is perched among brown birch leaves on a terrace. The bird came to visit me and alerted me that the feeder needed refilling. I was allowed to photograph it from a distance of 20 cm!
The tit allowed me even to remove a branch that was obstructing the view. One of its blue-grey metallic-shining legs, reminiscent of dinosaurs, can be seen.

A tiny bluetit makes its way into the birdbath, you can see how alert it is always looking for danger so it can take flight. Ripples are spreading across the water surface as it steps in. The backdrop is defused foliage as I used a shallow depth of field to isolate the subject.

A blue tit in the morning sun high up in the hazelnut bush, which apart from numerous catkins is still bare from winter. When fluffed up like this, the blue tit also looks a little like a Christmas tree bauble. The bird seems to be extending its night's sleep with a nap. Sometimes you're just very sleepy...
