Card woven band on inkle loom in browns and a soft muted green wool in an 'S' pattern.
Had insomnia last night so got up, cut some yarn, threaded some cards, and tried out a possible trim for our men's vests for #SokiuSvente.
Probably too wide and maybe not the right color. I used what I had that*might* make enough yardage for 8 vests.

I don't have weaving pegs to make a warp (for tablet weaving). Instead, I use my good ol yarn swift to make a long enough warp of threads. It makes a good length 😁 Also, I use my thread organiser to make sure my 'threads' are in order #tabletweaving #cardweaving #bandweaving #weaving #weavingloom
My attempt at weaving a sample band using the ancient method of tablet weaving. The background of the woven band is a dusty pink, and the pattern itself is a light yellow. The sample band is on the edges of my light coloured couch.

My first real but crappy attempt at tablet weaving. You can see the pattern, but either I have tension issues that I need to work on or, I was using the wrong kind of wool. Either way, I have allot of improvements to do 😅

Is my hand spun yarn suitable for tablet weaving? Looks like the answer is yes. Three ply Romney yarn dyed with cochineal, genista tinctoria and Saxon blue. The pattern is a variation of the Oseberg band.
