Such a beautiful, delicate lacewing, seen in early February in the Perth Hills. I think is one of the Beaded Lacewings (Family Berothidae) but I'm not sure of the species.

A photo of a tan owlfly from the front. The owlfly has long slender antennae, one extends to the left of the frame, the other towards the camera. It has very large eyes, the left has a green iridescence, the right has a star shaped reflection. There is a mass of hair like scales under the owlfly's eyes that looks very much like a beard. The owfly's lace like wings extend upwards from its tan hair covered thorax and its large abdomen extends just out of focus to the upper right.
Happy (Owl) #Flyday! This is a split-eyed Owlfly, Ululodes floiridanus. Owlflies are in the order #Neuroptera along with lacewings, mantidflies and antlions.

An unusual visitor to our Perth Hills garden moth light last night... not a moth but one of the Silky Lacewings.
First time seeing one of these beauties! It was quite sizeable, about 2cm in length.

Not sure why this hasn’t appeared on the #Neuroptera feed yet - hopefully just a matter of timing and it will be there soon. Love seeing examples of Neuroptera and allied orders from other parts of the globe.

This small lacewing was a more unusual visitor to the garden light recently. Identified on #inaturalist as Carobius pulchellus, a member of the Brown Lacewing family (Hemerobiidae). This is just the 3rd observation of this species in WA

Spotted this beautifully hairy #owlfly (Acmonotus incusifer) this week.
One of the Split-eyed Owlflies, it seems this isn't a commonly observed species. There are only 5 observations in #inaturalist with all of those in Western Australia.

A macro photo of a tan and brown mantidfly. The mantidfly's mantid-like raptorial limbs (which gives these insects their name) are tucked below its head, and are brown and spined. The head is triangular and the large hemispherical bronze metallic eyes are on each side. The rest of the body is just out of focus.

Buenos días con esta Mantispa styriaca. Creo que este curioso insecto del orden Neuroptera es más común de lo que parece, pero su pequeño tamaño la hace pasar un tanto desapercibida.

Makroaufnahme eines Gefleckten Taghaftes (Micromus variegatus) auf einem grünen Blatt. Das kleine, etwa 8-11 mm große Insekt zeigt die charakteristischen schmutzig-braunen und bräunlich gefleckten Vorderflügel sowie die durchscheinenden, netzartig geäderten Flügel der braunen Florfliege aus der Familie der Hemerobiidae. Deutlich erkennbar sind die langen, fadenförmigen Fühler, die rötlich-braunen Augen und die sechs gelblich-braunen Beine. Der Netzflügler sitzt seitlich auf der Blattoberfläche und zeigt die für Taghafte typische, den Florfliegen ähnliche aber kleinere Erscheinung.
Der ca. 1 cm große Gefleckte Taghaft (Micromus variegatus) lebt in der Krautschicht feuchter Habitate und ernährt sich im Larvenstadium und als ausgewachsener Taghaft, insbesondere von Blattläusen.
