Fruity nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate and spicy. Showing sweet raspberries, cherries, red currants, earth, light wood, spices, dark chocolates, peppercorn and herbs. Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a tasty Grenache from Columbia Valley in Washington State. Elegant and fruit forward, with a soft mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and complex. This Single Vineyard Grenache is easy drinking and very approachable already. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolves. A nice sipping wine that will pair nicely with food too. Grenache grapes were aged in (20% new) French oak barrels for 23 months. 14.8% alcohol by volume. 90 points. $45.

Seven Hills Winery Rocks District Syrah 2021, Walla Walla Valley, Washington State Deep purple in color with a purplish rim. Strong nose of black currants, cooked plums, barnyard, tobacco leaf and herbs. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, vegetables and peppercorn. Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries. This young Syrah from the Rocks District in Walla Walla Valley is nicely balanced, rich and extracted. Bold, yet elegant. Already complex and approachable, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Stinky in a good way, and feels like a new world Syrah with a Northern Rhone feel. Good by itself or with food, like game meats. Grapes were aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $50.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black plums, currants, cedar, licorice, cola, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, light cinnamon and peppercorn. Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries. This is a delicious Single Vineyard Merlot from Napa valley. Elegant and nicely balanced. Fruit forward, rich and complex. This 7 year old Merlot is drinking beautifully now and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. The nose feels very fresh and complex. Showing a touch of Right Bank Bordeaux feel, which makes it more interesting. Needed an hour in the decanter to open up properly and balance itself out. Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and fruit forward. This Single Vineyard Chardonnay is drinking very nicely now as a 4 year old, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Needs 15 minutes of airtime to remove some of the oaky notes, but good right out of the bottle, too. Wine Enthusiasts 93 points. Wine Advocate 91 points. Lightly creamy, tangy and interesting. Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. 100% Chardonnay grapes were aged in (35% new) French oak barrels for 16 months. This is an easy drinking white wine from Arizona. Feels like a California Chardonnay with a touch of Rhone. Interesting stuff. This Single Vineyard Marsanne needs some time in the bottle to mature properly, but already very approachable. Spicy and interesting, with mild complexity. This Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is tangy and easy drinking. This 8 year old is already showing nice complexity, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolves.
