Active aldehydes accelerate CD8+ T cell exhaustion by metabolic alteration in the tumor microenvironment - Nature Immunology Here the authors show a feedback loop between active aldehydes and fatty acid oxidation that can reprogram T cell metabolism to promote exhaustion thereby limiting antitumor T cell immunity.

Therapies that counter aldehyde toxicity, improve mitochondrial health, and restore FAO are therefore promising approaches to reinvigorating #Tcell anticancer responses & overcoming resistance to PD-1–based therapeutics.
