One of my pupae didn’t come out but it was fully formed.
So, I decided to peel half the shell to preserve as a personal specimen! Had to glue the mouth part back on but I’m so excited to show it once it’s dry!

A photo of a soft looking, tan, buff, white, and dark brown moth on the hood of a red car. The moth is facing the lower right. It's antenna, legs, leading edges of wings, and shoulders are white. It's legs are splayed out to grip the car hood. It's antenna are facing forward and sweep off to either side. The wings sweep back, and together form a 90° angle from the head. They are intricately patterned in brown and cream shades, and textured reminiscent of tree bark. They do not meet in the middle, nor cover the abdomen. From the small white head area, there is a sudden change to a deep brown stripe between the white shoulders, that widens as it goes back toward the abdomen. The abdomen is a soft cream color, and the segments of the abdomen are visible. A light source behind the moth to the upper left, casts it's shadow on the surface of the red car hood in front of it, almost making an "X" shape. The car hood shows an even coating of dust all over it's surface, and a few highlights along the edge of the hood close to the left margin of the image.
Last night, while out and about, this little vision of nature came to rest on my car! I had a chance to pull over slowly and get out for a picture, then gently placed it out of harms way.
